Although the majority of local authorities provided an exact figure of the number of Environmental Health Officers they employed, the London Borough of Hackney did not. In their Freedom of Information request, the council stated, "26 Private Sector Housing Officers, some of whom are EHOs and some of which have relevant transferable skills and experience". Because of this, their EHO figure has been marked with a * to indicate this and impacted their overall score in the Index.
